P.O.S.T. #11 - Merry Christmas, one and all!

P.O.S.T. #11 - Merry Christmas, one and all!

This is true reporting of the world’s most important events- up-coming gigs, the beer line-up, and the all-important Rupert's Password at the Old Street Tavern in Ludlow, Shropshire.

L.O.S.T. - Live at the Old Street Tavern

Today at 4pm we have opera classics, including the 12 Songs of Christmas, sung beautifully Trovatori, and on Friday, we have a Fun Casino night of Blackjack, to raise funds for Hope House hospice for children. Buy-in for £5, which will give you £200 to play with, and the winner will receive a bottle of something delicious!

In the new year we will be announcing our new line-up, including our official After The Castle gigs, which start at 10.30pm each evening after the main gigs at Ludlow Castle in July. You may want to keep an eye on developments, as last year’s we incredibly popular, and we may restrict entry.

GUEST BEERS

CASK

Lovely lovely beer

Our wonderful house beers are locals HPA, a polished real ale at 4%, and Butty Bach, a marvellous premium ale at 4.5% – both from Wye Valley Brewery.

This week, we are delighted to welcome the following:

Gollop With Zest from Froth Blowers - a triple hopped pale ale combines all the best ingredients as those in our other beers but gets an extra ‘zesty’ hop-hit at the end. 4.5%.

Dark Ruby Mosaic from Sarah Hughes Brewery - a balance of intense colour and flavours, this 6.0% is an award-winning festival favourite.

Crafy Fox by Wily Fox Brewery - 4.0% brewed with Maris Otter & Crystal Malts, triple‐hopped with classic English varieties Northdown, Fuggles & East Kent Goldings to create a quaffable, full bodied bitter ale with a spicy, earthy aroma.

Lovely lovely more beer

Our house regulars ABK Hells, Konrad Pilsner, Rattler Cornish Cider, Long Mynd Cider, and Forged Stout are joined this week by:

Colourway King by Tiny Rebel - at 7.1% this double IPA has a delicious citrus aftertaste. It's not called The King for nothing.

Cable Bay by Nothing Bound – a hazy pale with Nelson Sauvin, Simcoe and Azacca hops. 5.2%

Christmas Day Opening Hours

We will be opening a little later on Christmas day, at 3pm, and remaining open until we want to go home, and Rupert's password this week is "Feliz Navidad".
