P.O.S.T. #10 - Hurtling towards the Ho Ho Ho
From the Old Street Tavern in Ludlow, Shropshire, this is the best newsletter in the entire world - it contains news of up-coming gigs, the beer line-up, and the all-important Rupert's Password.
L.O.S.T. - Live at the Old Street Tavern
NEW VERSAINTS ALBUM
Today at 12am, the mighty Versaints dropped their debut album, and listening to it will quite literally make you a better person. Tomorrow we are very excited to host an unplugged set from them, and it's well worth catching them here, because very soon you won't be able to see them at such an intimate gig.
TICKETING SUSPENDED - FREE GIGS UNTIL 2025!
Because it's Christmas, and because we love you, we have suspended ticketing from now until the new year, and as we start to prepare for the day, next week we have electronic son et lumiere by The Flip Music, a seasonal reading from Peter Hayter, and opera from Trovatori.
Rupert’s password this week is “Caprine”.
JACKO & THE MAGIC MEN
Last Friday Jacko & The Magic Men played their soulful blues and garage rock. If you don't know them, it's definitely worth checking them out on Soundcloud.

GUEST BEERS
CASK
Our wonderful house beers are locals HPA, a polished real ale at 4%, and Butty Bach, a marvellous premium ale at 4.5% – both from Wye Valley Brewery.
This week, we are delighted to welcome the following:
Gollop With Zest from Froth Blowers - a triple hopped pale ale combines all the best ingredients as those in our other beers but gets an extra ‘zesty’ hop-hit at the end. 4.5%.
Worcester Sway by Bewdley Brewery - a 5.0% version of Worcester Way - sweeter, and full bodied.
Dark Ruby Mosaic from Sarah Hughes Brewery - a balance of intense colour and flavours, this 6.0% is an award-winning festival favourite.
KEG
Our house regulars ABK Hells, Konrad Pilsner, Rattler Cornish Cider, Long Mynd Cider, and Forged Stout are joined this week by:
Crafy Fox by Wily Fox Brewery - 4.0% brewed with Maris Otter & Crystal Malts, triple‐hopped with classic English varieties Northdown, Fuggles & East Kent Goldings to create a quaffable, full bodied bitter ale with a spicy, earthy aroma.
Colourway King by Tiny Rebel - at 7.1% this double IPA has a delicious citrus aftertaste. It's not called The King for nothing.
RUPERTS SAVE DURING THE WEEK
Between opening on Sunday to 6pm on Thursday afternoon we offer a discount to Ruperts - those good sorts (or at least subscribers to this newsletter) who support us, as follows:
- Up-size a glass of wine
- Up-size a measure from a single to a double
- 50 pence off a pint of beer, or bottled alcoholic beverage
Until next time - take it easy!
